New eCopy Forms Processing Extender

by Bill Brikiatis

July 9, 2010

The new eCopy ShareScan Forms Processing Extender allows you to scan documents and automatically capture data from the documents using your office copier or MFP.

It uses zonal optical character recognition (OCR) to read precise fields and extract data from scanned documents, then passes that data to business applications for faster, more efficient document workflows.

Here’s how it works:

1. Select your workflow on the copier touch screen and scan the document

2. Verify the scan is correct using document preview

3. Validate the captured fields using the onscreen display of what’s been captured

4. Make corrections if necessary

5. Send the data and image to the business application with a push of a button

For more information on the eCopy Forms Processing Extender, click here.

June 29, 2010

The truth is it doesn’t have to be. With a price that’s 66% less than Adobe(R) Acrobat(R) Standard and 80% less than Acrobat Professional, suddenly PDF software is not expensive anymore.

With a Nuance site license, the cost per seat for PDF Converter Professional will go down even further. PDF Converter Professional delivers all the tools you need without the complicated, extraneous graphic design features found in other high-priced applications.

by Bill Brikiatis

June 21, 2010

The truth is accurate conversion from PDF documents to Word, Excel and WordPerfect files is possible. Save hours of effort with a single click!

The key point is all PDF conversion capabilities are not equal. While some claim their software can convert PDF into Word, Excel and WordPerfect … only Nuance can offer more than 30 years of experience in document imaging and conversion.

Nuance PDF Converter uses the same ultra-precise technology as our powerful imaging product OmniPage. If you’ve tried PDF conversion and decided that it isn’t worth the trouble, try it again for free using Nuance PDF Reader.

Your converted documents will be complete with everything from the original — including text, columns, tables, graphics, charts and layouts.

The truth is you can edit any non-protected PDF document with the proper software such as PDF Converter. You should look for software that gives you the ability to edit directly within a PDF document. You can add text, delete, rearrange, even remove or change the position of charts and graphics.

If you want to create PDF documents that should not be edited, you can secure and protect documents according to your specifications. Redaction of text can also be made permanent so that readers can not gain access to the text that you have redacted.
